For specific questions or more ideas regarding this core word Activity Sheet, please contact Isabel Medina @ imedina@sfsu.edu. Thank you!

Snack/mealtimes: Adults can model the core word during snack and mealtimes when asking students to indicate what they want to eat/drink. They can say “Enseñame lo que quieres comer/tomar” (Show me what you want to eat/drink).

Circle: Students can begin the day by showing anything they have brought to circle time (their AAC system, book, stuffed animal, etc) e.g. “Voy a enseñar lo que traje!” (I am going to show what I brought!) and adults can model by asking students to show e.g. “Enseña lo que trajiste al circulo!” (Show what you brought to circle time!”).

When its time to switch roles students can say “Es mi turno de enseñar” (It’s my turn to teach).

Video Modeling

Culture Sharing: Adults can create an activity around the book “Todo el mundo cabe aquí” by Alexandra Penfold and Suzanna Kaufman. This book is about everyone being welcomed at school with open arms and their different backgrounds, abilities, and traditions are celebrated. After reading this book, students can prepare a small presentation or excerpt to teach other students about their own culture and family e.g “Voy a enseñar sobre la cultura Mexicana” (I am going to teach about Mexican culture).
